Downtown Hollywood is buzzing about the opening of the Hard Bean Grand Café at 1866 N. Young Circle.
Co-owners Gabriela Iarapino, and her mother, Elsa Boniolo, moved to Florida from their native Argentina less than one year ago, and looked at several locations in Broward County before they found their ideal site facing Downtown Hollywood’s ArtsPark at Young Circle.
They immediately liked the location, said Iarapino, because it is on the west side of Young Circle, right in front of the park, and not in a strip mall like most of other sites they had seen. It is also adjacent to the commercial core of historic Downtown Hollywood.
Iarapino, an attorney in her former life, and Boniolo, a businesswoman, always liked the idea of owning a café.
“In Argentina, going to a café is a way of life, a nice way to meet people, study, work, and meet with friends,” she said. They will soon be adding outdoor tables so their customers can also enjoy the fresh air while savoring their coffee and snacks.
The Hard Bean Grand Café serves a variety of hot and iced coffee drinks ($1.95 - $4.80), teas ($1.90 - $2.50), smoothies ($4.95), frappes ($4.99), and other soft drinks ($2.90 - $3.50), plus a variety of American and Latin American foods including baked goods ($1.25 - $4.99), sandwiches ($1.95 - $4.79), empanadas ($2.99), and salads ($5.99).
