Downtown Hollywood is exploding with flavor with the opening of C4Eats Vegan Café at 2003 Harrison Street.
"C-4 is an explosive," said owner Randy Kelly, explaining the name. "Our menu will feature dishes like "The Minefield" Seafood Combo Platter, Bangin' Shrimp, and Bomb Bacon Cheeseburger; the flavors are amazing!"
Kelly, a South Florida native and music marketing professional, said that Chef Daudi McLean, a.k.a. Da Vegan Guru, is what really makes it special.
Kelly met McLean several years ago when he was on tour with a well-known hip-hop artist, and McLean was with them as the star’s personal chef.
"I've been doing this incredible food thing for 27 years," said McLean. "I believe there is a high demand for great True-To-The-Taste vegan food. In other words, a vegan fried chicken burger better taste like fried chicken!" He declared, "What I do is make plant-based food for people who love to eat traditional food."
C4Eats Vegan Café is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a full menu featuring salads, cooked foods and fresh-squeezed juices. Items include the Bomb'n Burger with Sweet Yam Fries or Regular Fries for $15; THE BOMB Soul Food Guru Smothered Fried Chicken or Citrus Ribs, with Baked Mac & Cheese, Grandmas Greens, and Candied Yams, $15; and Fluff Daddy Pancakes Apple Sage Sausage, with Guru Bacon and Scrambled V.eggs, $12.
"Come to C4Eats Vegan Café for explosive flavors -- we'll give you some Dynamite on a Plate!" said McLean.
